Ofcom Takes Aim at Instagram's Vanishing-Photo Feature

Ofcom has launched an investigation into whether Meta broke UK online safety law by rolling out Instagram's Instants feature without properly assessing the risks. The tool, introduced in May, lets users share photos with close friends that disappear once viewed. The regulator will examine whether illegal content and children's risk assessments were adequate. Meta says it analysed the risks, briefed Ofcom beforehand and will co-operate.
