Notting Hill Carnival parade begins as Europe's biggest street party

The Notting Hill Carnival is celebrating its 60th anniversary this bank holiday weekend, with millions expected to attend the annual event. Today is the family-friendly Children's Day Parade, which started at 10:30, and features young masqueraders in elaborate costumes. Road closures began at 06:00 today and will stay in place until 06:00 on Tuesday, 1 September.
