Notting Hill Carnival clean-up costs £1 million after huge litter piles

Following the Notting Hill Carnival, sanitation workers encountered enormous piles of raw chicken, discarded food containers, and empty beverage cans on west London streets. The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea reportedly incurs an annual expense of around £1 million for the clean-up and staffing associated with the event. The carnival attracts around two million people and contributes almost £400 million to the wider economy.
