Newcastle software firm Sage starts £400m share buyback as revenue rises 11%

The FTSE 100 accounting business took in £2.06bn over the nine months to June, driven by heavy demand for its cloud subscriptions. Chief financial officer Jacqui Cartin said the company is also speeding up its roll-out of artificial intelligence tools. Despite the strong sales, shares in the group remain roughly 13% down compared to this time last year.
