New vape tax could make high-strength nicotine cheaper

New vape tax could make high-strength nicotine cheaper

A store manager is concerned a new vape product duty will make higher-strength nicotine pods cheaper than refillable liquids. The duty levies 22 pence for each millilitre of vape liquid, almost doubling the price of a standard 10ml bottle to £6.63. The government says the tax will help tackle illicit vapes and reduce their appeal, especially to young people.
