New Orleans uses AI to answer some 911 calls since 2023

New Orleans city officials confirmed that artificial intelligence took over the processing of repeat emergency traffic reports in 2023. The AI system activates when a caller is near a car accident already logged, telling them the incident is handled unless they have new information.
