New home urine test spots over 9 in 10 bladder cancers

An at-home urine test currently being trialled by the NHS has detected 92% of bladder cancer cases. The study, a collaboration between the University of Birmingham and diagnostics firm Nonacus, encompassed almost 1,000 patients at seven hospitals across the UK. If larger trials succeed, this could spare tens of thousands of patients from invasive cystoscopies each year.
