New B12 therapy could fight deadly brain cancer
Scientists have found a vitamin B12 compound that can cross the brain's protective barrier and target glioblastoma, a very aggressive brain cancer. In animal studies, this compound released nitric oxide directly into tumour cells and worked even better when combined with existing treatments. More research is needed, but these early findings offer a promising new way to tackle a cancer with a typical patient survival of less than 15 months.
