Nearly 50,000 Yemenis flee as Houthis advance on Red Sea coast
Houthi forces' swift progression in western Yemen this week has caused the displacement of almost 50,000 individuals, leaving numerous families confined close to the conflict's front lines. The UN International Organization for Migration said on Friday that 46,000 people were displaced across the Taiz and Hodeidah governates. The fighting has contributed to oil prices rising above $100 a barrel, the first time since late July.
