NASA Sends First Nuclear Ship, Helicopters to Mars
Future human missions to Mars will gain key information on safe landing spots and water ice. On Tuesday, NASA announced it's sending three Skyfall helicopters to Mars, set for 2028, aboard SR-1 Freedom, its first craft using nuclear power for planet travel. This ends a 60-year gap in fission reactor flights for the US, while NASA also pauses its Lunar Gateway station.
