Mortgage rates hit 5.58% average for two-year fixed deals after Middle East tensions

Increased funding expenses for lenders stem from market forecasts predicting fewer interest rate decreases by central banks. A financial information service, Moneyfacts, reported that the average new two-year fixed mortgage deal has reached 5.58%. Rachel Springall, a finance expert from Moneyfacts, additionally reported the temporary removal of 100 deals.
