More older adults can get RSV vaccine soon
The NHS will broaden its RSV vaccine programme from September 2026, making it available to adults aged 65 to 74 who belong to specific at-risk categories. This common virus usually causes colds, but can lead to serious illness like pneumonia for older adults and babies. GPs will offer the free jab to eligible people with chronic respiratory disease or immunosuppression.
