Mitchells & Butlers says heatwave left third-quarter sales flat

Like-for-like sales were unchanged in the third quarter, although they were up 2.2% across the 42 weeks to 18 July 2026. Mitchells & Butlers said hot weather hurt food brands including Toby Carvery and Miller & Carter, while drink-focused pubs benefited from the football World Cup. The pub group still expects full-year results to match market expectations, helped by investment and cost savings.
