Milburn review says severely disabled young people need faster benefit access
A new review suggests 16 to 24-year-olds with complex disabilities should get quick, unconditional benefit support without repeated assessments. Former Labour health secretary Alan Milburn says many families currently face lengthy and distressing evaluations for Pip and universal credit. He believes a different approach is needed for those whose severe conditions mean they will never work.
