Migrants faking abuse claims to stay in UK, BBC says

False domestic abuse claims are severely impacting British partners, a BBC investigation shows. It found migrants exploit domestic abuse rules to gain quick UK residency, sometimes with help from legal advisers. Over 5,500 people now claim fast-track residency each year, a number up more than 50% in just three years.
