Meta ordered to remove deepfakes of Scottish councillor, health campaigner

The company's oversight board, a binding independent referee, criticised Facebook's defences against artificial intelligence imagery as inadequate on Thursday. The removal orders cover a fabricated video of a Labour representative discussing asylum seekers, alongside an altered clip mocking a menstrual health volunteer. It also told the social network to push risky AI posts further down users' feeds and add warning screens.
