Met Police make nearly 300 arrests in gang operation

London police arrested almost 300 people and seized 38 weapons during a week-long operation against gang violence. Officers carried out 238 stop and searches, leading to 40 arrests, and found knives and firearms in Lambeth and Southwark. The operation aims to reduce violence, with knife crime already down 18% in those areas.
