MenB vaccine offers no gonorrhoea protection, new study finds

A new Australian trial has found the MenB vaccine, offered to at-risk men in the UK since August 2025, does not prevent gonorrhoea infections. The study, which appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine, tracked 587 men for two years and observed comparable infection rates between vaccinated and unvaccinated groups. The UK Health Security Agency is not making immediate changes, stating its own studies will provide more robust data.
