Martin Clunes loses four-year fight over permanent traveller site
Dorset Council approved permanent planning permission for a travellers' site next to actor Martin Clunes' home near Beaminster, ending a four-year dispute. The committee voted seven to two in favour, allowing Theo Langton and Ruth McGill — who have lived on the land for 25 years — to remain permanently. Permission covers two residential caravans and a workshop barn, personal to the couple; the site must be cleared within four months if they leave. Clunes had objected alongside several neighbours.
