Man City's stadium lease reviewed, likely raising council payments

Manchester City Council started reviewing the club's Etihad Stadium lease last month, with changes taking effect from 3 September. The review was prompted by the substantial growth of the club's east Manchester site, which includes a new £300m entertainment zone. The council expects to receive a higher yearly base rate fee, currently between £3m and £4m, plus extra income-related fees.
