M62 shut after crash, man seriously hurt

The M62 westbound was closed for hours, causing significant delays for drivers between Liverpool and Manchester. Merseyside Police responded to a single-car crash around 4:15am on Tuesday, June 16, between Burtonwood and Rainhill. A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after his vehicle left the carriageway.
