London Tube stations get live facial recognition cameras from Tuesday

Transport for London is starting a trial of live facial recognition cameras at Tube stations, beginning at Victoria station on Tuesday, August 11. These cameras will compare faces to a police watchlist of people wanted for serious crimes like sexual offences and robbery. However, the technology has been criticised for errors, with one system reportedly making zero true matches after scanning over 530,000 faces.
