Liverpool Street Goes Dark as Cable Fault Cuts City Power

Liverpool Street Goes Dark as Cable Fault Cuts City Power

A fault on an underground cable plunged swathes of central and east London into darkness from 10.32am on Monday, hitting around 32 postcodes and thousands of homes and businesses. Departure boards at Liverpool Street went blank, offices lost wi-fi and Great Northern trains skipped Essex Road. UK Power Networks diverted power to restore 4,989 customers quickly and had every affected postcode back on by 12.09pm.
