Liverpool councillors apologise for comparing station queues to Auschwitz

Two Liberal Democrat councillors, including a former lord mayor, have apologised for remarks made during a planning meeting on Tuesday. Richard Kemp and Pat Moloney compared proposed crowd control measures at Sandhills station to Nazi concentration camps. Their comments, which followed criticism of the station's matchday capacity for Everton FC's new stadium, were condemned by the city's Jewish community and Labour politicians.
