British troops may soon fly 200 miles into hostile areas using powered paragliders

British troops could soon use powered paragliders to fly up to 200 miles into hostile areas. The Ministry of Defence is spending £6 million on the system from Wiltshire-based Blakcro, with trials for Royal Marines and Parachute Regiment troops starting in the coming months. These titanium-framed machines are harder to detect than traditional aircraft and are ready for flight after just eight minutes of assembly.
