Lammy: Starmer's Gaza comments 'came out all wrong'

Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy said Labour's initial handling of the Gaza conflict was "problematic", agreeing Sir Keir Starmer's LBC interview "came out all wrong". In the early weeks, Sir Keir faced criticism for not urging an immediate ceasefire and saying Israel had a "right" to cut off power and water to Gaza. Andy Burnham, who is anticipated to assume the role of prime minister later this month, issued an apology on Thursday regarding the party's response.
