Police recorded 48,615 knife crime offences in England and Wales in the year to June 2026, down 6% from 51,567 a year earlier, according to the Office for National Statistics. The figures also show overall violent crime down by more than a third in a decade, though estimates for domestic abuse and fraud rose.
