Kids Still Online Despite Australia's Under-16 Social Media Ban
Australia's eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant is investigating Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube for failing to enforce the world's first under-16 social media ban, which took effect on December 10. Despite 5 million accounts being deactivated, many children still access the platforms. Platforms face fines of up to A$49.5 million for non-compliance.
