Kemi Badenoch backs Piddington villagers against asylum seeker plan
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch met Piddington villagers opposing proposals for accommodating migrants on Ministry of Defence property. She told reporters the plan for about 1,300 male asylum seekers was a "safeguarding issue" due to women in the village feeling outnumbered. Badenoch further stated that a government under her leadership would withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights.
