Josh Kerr breaks 27-year-old world mile record in London Stadium

British runner Josh Kerr smashed the world mile record on Saturday, shaving 0.47 seconds off the 27-year-old mark. The 28-year-old clocked three minutes 42.66 seconds at London Stadium in front of a 60,000-strong crowd. He has become the sixth British individual to achieve the mile record, a title previously held by Hicham El Guerrouj since 1999.
