Insurer covers £146,500 bill for baby born early
Musicians Issy Ferris and Archie Sylvester faced massive costs after their son arrived seven weeks prematurely in Nashville. Zurich Insurance Group initially rejected the £146,500 claim because the infant was not listed on their travel documents. Following a nine-month legal dispute, the company overturned its refusal and apologised for the distress caused. The mother developed pre-eclampsia during a music tour despite having medical clearance to fly.
