The 'supersite' for unlawful waste in Kent has now been emptied after 15 months, at a cost of £15m to taxpayers. Criminals dumped nearly 40,000 tonnes of rubbish in Hoads Wood, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, over six months in 2023. While the work is welcomed, there are concerns that criminal gangs may try to dump waste there again.
