IEA warns Iran war drives record energy crisis
Households and businesses worldwide face rising fuel and electricity costs as the conflict disrupts key oil and gas routes. On Tuesday, International Energy Agency chief Fatih Birol said the Iran war had created the worst energy crisis in history, worsened by the shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz and earlier supply losses linked to Russia. In March, the IEA released a record 400 million barrels from emergency reserves to steady prices.
