IDF finds weapons near Gaza war cemetery
Israeli troops located sites in Gaza City near the Commonwealth War Graves cemetery, where over 3,200 British and allied soldiers from World War I and II are interred, that were allegedly used by Hamas to manufacture weapons. Separately, Israeli forces obtained a secret Hamas file from October 2022 outlining a plan to exhume British war graves as leverage after the UK’s embassy move. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, which oversees the cemetery, has confirmed the site has sustained significant damage, but noted its overall integrity has been maintained.
