Hundreds of far-right protesters block coaches in Portsmouth
Around 500 far-right protesters gathered in Portsmouth on Sunday evening, attempting to stop coaches carrying 140 asylum seekers from leaving. The asylum seekers had arrived on a small boat, intercepted heading towards the Hampshire coast, which is an unusual route for such crossings. Police issued a dispersal order and the government condemned the "thuggish behaviour" of the demonstrators.
