Huge plumes of smoke cover London after Hackney shop fire

Six fire engines and about 40 firefighters rushed to the scene on Monday after the blaze started at around 7.50am. Crews from the London Fire Brigade extinguished the blaze on Hackney Road, which started in a commercial property with residential apartments overhead, in under sixty minutes. Traffic had to be shut in both directions, and the London Ambulance Service confirmed no patients needed treatment.
