How Model Context Protocol Works ?

Model Context Protocol is an open-source standard developed by Anthropic that enables AI agents to connect with external tools, data sources, and services through a standardized framework. Operating on a client-server architecture, MCP allows AI models to access real-time information beyond their training data. The system works through three components: MCP hosts containing clients that make requests, MCP servers that expose resources and tools, and a JSON-RPC protocol layer enabling communication. This eliminates custom integrations for each AI-tool combination, making AI agents more capable of performing real-world tasks.
