How is the Bank of England policing prime brokers?
The Bank of England's Prudential Regulation Authority has opened a review of London prime brokers, the Financial Times reported, to check for overly concentrated Asian equity positions. Prime brokers lend cash and securities to hedge funds, and heavy exposure to one volatile market can leave lenders exposed. The central bank declined to comment, and no banks, timeline or next steps were disclosed.
