Houthis announce Red Sea blockade against Saudi Arabia, citing 'eye for an eye'
The Iran-aligned group said the blockade started on Monday and called it a response to Saudi Arabia's blockade of Yemen by land, sea and air over nearly 12 years. A Houthi spokesperson said the move followed reported tit-for-tat strikes last week and was based on an "eye for an eye" approach. An informal truce between the two sides had been in place since March 2022.
