The extra cost, about 11% more than wider local areas, is comparable to some private school fees. Research by estate agent Yopa found properties in postcodes with a top 50 state secondary school cost about £415,791. For example, homes near Bishop Vesey’s grammar school in Sutton Coldfield cost £275,814 more than the wider Birmingham average.
