Heathrow staff report rats, cockroaches; a third fell ill from conditions

A poll by the trade union Unite found at least a third of staff have become ill over dirty conditions at the site. Workers reported finding mouse droppings inside their personal lockers and spotting mice drinking out of communal water fountains. The airport says it disputes the scale of the problem across its 80,000 staff, though bosses promised to investigate all reports.
