Heart attack survivors have 84% more microplastics in their blood
A small Italian study found 84% of heart attack survivors had microplastics in their heart's blood supply, compared to 32% of those with healthy arteries. Researchers suggest smoking and air pollution might make it easier for these tiny particles to enter the bloodstream. The study shows a strong link between pollution and heart disease.
