Chancellor John Healey announced up to £300m for a new AI Biosecurity Lab, funded by public and private sectors, as part of a "distinctively British" AI strategy. The Treasury committed new financial backing for the AI Security Institute and AI chip design initiatives in Edinburgh. An AI Centre of Excellence will be established in Manchester, with £10m annually for research into AI's future impact.
