Police in England and Wales documented 146,825 hate crimes over the twelve months concluding in March 2026, a 7% increase on the prior year. Offences against Muslims rose by 15% to 5,132, and antisemitic hate crimes increased by 10% to 3,162. The British Muslim Trust, a government partner, reported a shift from attacks on mosques to targeting Muslims inside them.
