Greater Manchester Police had busiest ever month in July

Greater Manchester Police received a record 152,000 public contacts in July, making it the force's busiest month ever. Officers say ongoing hot weather and the World Cup are the main reasons for increased demand. Increased demand led to more calls about antisocial behaviour, alcohol consumption, and a rise in deaths among older people.
