Great Britain rents stay flat, first time since 2017
Many tenants are struggling with affordability, prompting landlords to cut rental costs to secure new occupants. Rightmove data reveals average private rents in Great Britain remained flat for the first three months of 2026. This ends a nearly decade-long period of increases. Around 26% of rental listings are currently being reduced in price, the highest proportion recorded by Rightmove since 2012.
