Government taxes make hiring young people tougher
It's getting tougher for young people to find entry-level jobs because UK retail bosses say government taxes raise employment costs. Over 80 big UK retailers, including Tesco and Sainsbury's, wrote to the Prime Minister, asking him to review national insurance and the living wage. This comes as more than a million 16 to 24-year-olds are currently neither working nor learning.
