Google withdraws AI tool from Earth after experts warn of misinformation risk
Google has paused its new AI tool for Google Earth less than 48 hours after launching it, following a BBC Verify report about potential misuse. Experts warned the feature, which let people create fake images on real satellite maps, could spread misinformation and erode trust. Google said it saw users sharing images that broke its rules and noted that AI-generated content has invisible watermarks.
