GLP-1 drugs linked to reduced smell and taste

Long-term users of GLP-1 drugs for type 2 diabetes face an increased risk of problems with their sense of smell and taste. A new analysis found these patients had an 81% higher rate of smell disturbances and 52% higher rate of taste issues than those on other diabetes meds. Researchers are calling for closer monitoring, though some doctors say the benefits outweigh this potential side effect.
