Glowworms return to a North Yorkshire nature reserve after 100 years

Volunteers spotted a dozen of the glowing female insects this summer after a zero-budget project to breed them. Ecologist Pete Cooper and a team of locals raised hundreds of larvae inside a Bristol garden shed before moving them to the Nosterfield site. The group plans to set another 1,900 young beetles free later this year to help the colony grow.
